Tryout Dates for the 2018 Spring Season
Players are required to attend one indoor batting session and one outdoor session.
Pitchers should be prepared to throw during the indoor sessions.
Catchers should come prepared with equipment for both the indoor and outdoor sessions.
All Indoor Sessions will be held at the Strike Zone, 10 Mann Street, Worcester.
Most importantly, the Strike Zone does not charge players to tryout.
Indoor Session Dates
All Age Groups, July 27 and August 3rd, 6-8 pm
Outdoor Session Dates
August 12th and 13th
U10 -U12 - 9 am to 11 am
U14 - 11 am to 1pm
U16 - 1pm to 3 pm
Outdoor Sessions will be held at Rockwood Field, Chandler Street Worcester.
Players Should bring the following to tryouts:
Gloves
Bat
Helmet
Softball Pants
Softball Cleats
Catchers Gear if applicable
Water
Threre is no Charge to Tryout out.
The majority of the local softball programs and/or teams in the area are run by parents that have organized players from their local recreation leagues to continue playing during the offseason. A coach can never replace the enthusiasm a parent/coach will bring but at the same time there may be valuable lessons that are not being taught. The Strike Zone ASA program will aim to bridge the gap for these players and teams looking to improve their overall game skills.
The Softball teams will practice weekly, at The Strike Zone, working on all aspects of the game. Practice plans will be coordinated across all age groups and developed by our instructors. The coaches at the Strike Zone want to ensure proper techniques are being taught at each level, and we can then build on those techniques as the girls progress through the program.
