Q. What is A.A.U.?

The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is one of the largest, non-profit, volunteer sports organizations in the Unite Staes.  It is a multi sport organization,   dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of the amateur sports.  AAU offers the best youth baseball competition in the region.  There is a 20-40 game season and consists of playing teams from all over New England.  It is for the serious and dedicated ballplayer.

Q.  How do players make a Zone Select AAU Baseball Team?

The Zone Select AAU Baseball teams are selected from a series of tryouts typically held in August, September and October prior to the upcoming season.  A complete list of tryout dates  are listed here.

Q. What about my town program/team?

Our Program is not intended to replace, but rather, to supplement your local Little League, Cal Ripken or Babe Ruth organization.  This is especially true at the younger classifications.

Q. How much travel is involved in the Zone's program?

It will vary depending on the skill level of each team and if the choose to play regionally or attempt to play national competition.  Many teams will find their games are within an hours driving distance.

Q.  I was a Zone team member last year.  Do I need to tryout for next season?

In fairness to all, all past and current team members are required to earn their spot via the tryout process each year.
