U9 and U10

Tuition; $1,650 per player

At this level, many of the players are either entering their first year of Little League Majors, or will be within the next year.   The field of play is the same as the traditional Little League field, commonly known as 40/60.  Players at this stage will grasp a better understanding of the fundamentals of play from the very basics to the more advanced.

Playing at this level of AAU, kids will benefit from the ability to pitch, catch and generally play on a more consistent basis.  Many times a player at this age may not get the time on the mound with his town team due to the fact they may have 11 or 12 year old kids ahead of them in the pitching rotation.  They have the ability to pitch weekly, against other players their own age and skill level which will not only boost confidence but also basic skill sets.

Games will be played once per weekend, unless they are in a tournament, either on Saturday or Sunday.  AAU schedules games as double headers.  We are well aware many of these kids play in their local recreational leagues and we do our best to not interfere with those schedules.

The Strike Zone travels to Mystic, CT each year for the War at the Shore Tournament Memorial Day weekend, which is a three day event that players and families always enjoy.

TUITION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING

  • Approximately 14-16 Game Schedule consisting of one double header per weekend and tournaments, depending on the season's weather.

  • Indoor practice sessions, beginning in January and ending in March

  • Team membership and insurance for A.A.U. participation

  • Special cage discounts throughout the year.

U11 and U12

Tuition; $1,850 per player

Players in this age group begin playing on what is commonly known as the 50/70 diamond, meaning 50' mound and 70' base path.  In addition to the larger field, the game is played with traditional High School rules or "open bases".   This is real baseball.

Players will learn proper leading and stealing, advanced hitting mechanics, identifying pitches and more sophisticated field coverages. Pitchers and infielders will begin to learn the art of holding runners to base and basic pick off moves.  The intent of the jump in field size and play, is to ready the kids for the 90' diamond when they turn 13, so the change is not as dramatic.

Games will be played once per weekend, unless they are in a tournament, either on Saturday or Sunday.  AAU schedules games as double headers.  We are well aware many of these kids play in their local recreational leagues and are key players on those teams.  We do our best to not interfere with those schedules and coaches will communicate with players and parents what will be required of them on a weekly basis.

TUITION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING

  • Approximately 18-20 Game Schedule consisting of one double header per weekend and tournaments.  There may be one or two weekends where four games are played but we do attempt to discourage this.

  • 1 tournament

  • Indoor practice sessions, beginning in January and ending in March

  • Team membership and insurance for A.A.U. participation

  • Special cage discounts throughout the year.

U13 and U14

Tuition; $1,975 per player

Many players will have begun playing for their middle school or high school teams at this time.  The tournament teams will concentrate on playing more tournaments over the course of the season than stand-alone games.  Tournament teams will play an AAU schedule, but only against their divisional rivals without any non-divisional games.

Players must be selected to these teams from tryouts and an invitation will be given.  Players may elect to play for the standard U13 & U14 teams if they chose to do so.

TUITION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING

  • 12-14 Game Divisional AAU Schedule consisting of one double header per weekend.  There may be one or two weekends where four games are played but we do attempt to discourage this.

  • 1 tournament

  • Indoor practice sessions, beginning in January and ending in March

  • Team membership and insurance for A.A.U. participation
